As a charity (no: SCO32858) Dumfriesshire & Cumbria Greyhound Rescue are always looking for help with the purchase and upkeep of kennels, vets bills, food and all the other associated costs with bringing greyhounds into Rescue and finding them new homes.

The Rescue doesn't have a kennel as such but works with a number of fosterers like ourselves who take the dogs into their homes, house train them and look after them until they find new homes. This is the ideal way of introducing the dogs to family way of life and help them settle into their new homes much faster. When all the foster homes are full the dogs go into a number of kennels situated throughout the south west of Scotland and Cumbria. When these are full there are a number of 'emergency fosterers' who look after dogs for a few days at short notice until a fosterer or kennel becomes available to them.

The more fosterers and kennels we can get the more dogs we can save. DCGR (Dumfriesshire & Cumbria Greyhound Rescue) are always looking for donations and a kennel appeal is in operation for the purchase of more custom built kennels that can be situated with the others we currently have.
