GREYHOUND RESCUE
Fostering Greyhounds in the South Lake District, Cumbria

EVENTS
All money raised from fund raising events is used to care for and find good homes for the retired, stray, neglected and unwanted greyhounds who come into our keeping. The funds are also being used towards the purchase and installation of an all weather 'emergency' kennel, that will allow us to take in an additional greyhound over and above the ones we are able to have at the moment.

Table Top Sale
Burlington House (next to the Albion Pub), Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria
Saturday 11th December 2010 - 10.00am to 2.00pm

The Adventures Youth Club for children with disabilities is holding a Table Top sale and Pauline and Colin have booked a table and will be there with goods including bric-a-brac to sell.
Sadly the trust was unable to attend this event for which we apologies because we were involved with the bringing in of Cooper and Kilty from Scotland where they were struggling with the cold and on the Saturday they both went to their new home. As all this happened at very short notice and Pauline and Colin were involved we were unable to find cover for the event at such short notice.

Christmas Fair
Jenny Stott and Julia Cross
with Milo, Solo and Jasper

Despite the wintery weather many people came to visit our first Christmas Fair where we raised over a thousand pounds.
Many thanks to all those who braved the weather and came to give their support including some of the greyhounds we'd fostered over the years, some as long as five years ago. It was wonderful to see them again along with their owners and in total 37 greyhounds attended the fair and they all did us proud.
Many thanks also to Pauline and Colin for organising the event, to all the shop keepers and other organisations who contributed items for the raffle and tombola etc and to all the many volunteers and stall holders who helped make it such a successful event.

Meet 'n' Greet
Pets at Home Store, Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria
Sunday 14th November 2010 - 10am to approx 4pm

Donations of tinned/carton dog food for the fostered greyhounds in our care until they find new homes is most welcome. Come and visit our stall, have a chat and meet some greyhounds.
A big thank you to Pauline and Colin who attended the Pets at Home store in Barrow in Furness with their greyhounds and whippet. Many people were interested in hearing about what wonderful pets greyhounds make and given our details should they wish to re-home a greyhound or know of anyone who might. One or two greyhounds came to visit, but with limited space that was just the right number and in addition to all the tins of dog food collected they were given £70.60 in donations
