Black greyhound
Adelle is a lovely black ex-racing greyhound who was born on the 1st August 2004. She weighs 28.5k, is house trained, spayed, inoculated and microchipped. Adelle travels well in the car, walks nicely on the lead and from what know so far she is okay with other breeds of dogs.

We have more pictures of Adelle during the time we were fostering her. We thought they were on our computer, but they are on a hard drive removed from the machine around the time of her re-homing. Stuart is going to search this out. We are praying the pictures are still on it and available and that we shall be able to include these as well in her memory and so we can remember Adelle for the beautiful little girl that she was.

2nd June 2010

This evening after our walk we met up with a friend and went to a nearby pub taking Adelle, Indi and Solo in - leaving Dakota and Sandy in the car. As we approached the bar a very noisy and 'in your face' terrier came from under a nearby table. Thank goodness it was on a lead and it's owner pulled it towards him otherwise it would have run straight into our greyhounds. Our dogs did us proud because they all knew it was there and everyone of them ignored it, including Adelle. As it was quite busy in the pub we decided to sit outside and after about half an hour the terrier came out to leave. Unfortunately, it's owner walked it quite close to our dogs, I think to see how it got on. Thankfully, our three just stood and looked and Adelle ignored it completely standing with her back to it.

This afternoon Adelle's new owners came with their grandson to see her and take her home with them. After all the paperwork was complete she happily walked to the car with them and with a helping hand from me jumped in the back and lay down for the

journey back to her new home, where we hope she will have a long and happy life.
10th June 2010
We received a phone call this evening from Adelle's new owners letting us know that she is fine and seems very settled now. They've had no further accidents in the house and loves going for rides in the car. She's been no problem at all, they are really pleased with her and she is beginning to get excited when she sees them getting her collar and lead down ready to put on to take her out. She's discovered the settee, where she tends to sleep at night - and during the day if she gets a chance. She loves laying on it either on her back with her legs in the air or cuddled up to her owner with her head on her lap.
19th June 2010
Jenny's owner bumped into Adelle and her new family outside a supermarket today. Adelle was in the car and her new owners had nothing but praise for her and said "she's the best dog they've ever had". When the opened the back up on the car she didn't even flinch and enjoyed all the attention.
16th April 2011
We received a very sad telephone call this morning from Adelle's owner giving us the upsetting news that Adelle passed away this lunch time following a seizure she had last night. Up until the moment she died she appeared fit and well so the incident came as a huge shock to us, especially with her being so young. It happened during the night when her owners awoke to loud thrashing and banging noises, which at first they thought was a burglar, but it turned out to be Adelle having the seizure, which sadly left her paralized and thus to her death.
In loving memory of Adelle.
Our pretty, little black beauty who
we were honoured to have known,
albeit for such a short time.
Cruely taken away from us too early,
rest in peace our beautiful Adelle,
run free without pain amongst the angels
and God be with you.
