Rosie's arrival and a brief history

Rosie is a beautiful black and white ex-racing greyhound who is just 2 years old. She is house trained, spayed, inoculated and microchipped. Rosie has a lovely character, walks nicely on the lead and travels well in the car.
Rosie's Diary
28th July 2010
We collected Rosie, Star and Scott this morning, all jumped in the car and with muzzles on because they didn't know each other and one or more may have been stressed with coming from the kennels they came to our home. Scott's new owner came at lunch time and took him home with her. Julia called and collected Star and Rosie was staying with us until she found her new home.
6th August 2010
Rosie's new owners called in this lunch time and after all the adoption paperwork was complete she happily went with them while they took her for a short walk then she jumped in their car and off she went to her new home, where we hope she will have a long and happy life.
9th August 2010
We received an email this afternoon letting us know that Rosie is truly a very special little girl and is starting to get very cheeky. When her owners pick up her lead she dances around and wags her tail. While out walking yesterday she met a cat and just stared at it before turning away, she also seems to be fine with other dogs, even a little Jack Russell that growled at her ! Rosie has settled in brilliantly, they had one little mishap yesterday when she banged her leg on the wall next to the patio. You would have thought she had nearly killed herself with the amount of noise she made, but she was fine within a couple of minutes sleeping on her bed and her leg is absolutely fine. Her owner felt better when we read the bit in my book about greyhounds being wimps ! She is eating really well, loves sardines in tomato sauce and they have only had a couple of accidents in the house. She sleeps on a duvet at the bottom of the bed and waits patiently until they get up in the morning. They haven't left her on her own in the house yet as its too soon but she does go into the other room on her own and lies down, so they are hoping she will be ok when they do leave her the first time. Of course it will only be for a very short time to begin with. Her owner walked her over to meet her husband after church yesterday and she attracted lots of fuss and attention from the congregation which she took in her stride.
11th August 2010
Received a telephone call this afternoon to let us know that Rosie is becoming really settled and everyone adores her.
15th August 2010
We received an email this afternoon letting us know that
Rosie's new owners feel they are so lucky to have her and she just gets better every day. No accidents on the carpet and eating all her meals. They took her to the park today and she was really well behaved. No problem at all with other dogs, she never pulls on the lead to get to them, just looks at them regally. Everyone who sees her wants her....no chance of that !!!! "
20th August 2010
We received an email today letting us know that Rosie is absolutely fine, she just gets better and better
and they call her their darling. They let her off the lead at the barn today and she had a little play but soon jumped back in the car. They have left her on her own a few times for a short while and found her fine on returning with no damage which they find pretty amazing. She is a brilliant eater, loves vegetables and they bought some "pet mince" from their butchers which had hearts in. They cooked it and she really enjoyed that! They havent had any accidents in the house for days now, and they seem to have had her much longer than two weeks today. They say it has been a lovely two weeks and they can't imagine being without her now.
7th November 2010
We received an email today letting us know that Rosie was bought her first advent calendar yesterday, a proper Good Boy chocolate drop one specifically for pets.. They are going to have to hide it as she still wants to steal it given half a chance. She ran off with a slice of bread from the table yesterday when they looked away for a second!
13th December 2010
We received an email this evening from Rosie's new owner letting us know that that she is really well.
She keeps pinching things off the christmas tree, but then she is always pinching things so there is nothing new there!
1st January 2011
Received an email today from Rosie's new owners letting us know that Rosie is well, she enjoyed Christmas and went to a party with them on the Monday. No loud music, but quite a few people there, which seems to have increased her confidence. She isn't running upstairs like she did at one time when people came around but greets them quietly. She gets more and more silly with us but in a nice way, pinching slippers, jumping up and down and barking when she wants to play and they say it's just so good to see her enjoying life.
26th March 2011
We received an email from Rosie's owner today letting us know
that as they were excited about some news they'd received last night Rosie decided to chew a wallet to bits. They think she was joining in with their exuberant mood, and maybe attention seeking. Luckily she didn't damage the 2 x £20 notesin it. The little monkey !!!
12th June 2011
This afternoon Rosie and her owners visited and stayed the night prior to going to away a few days in their mobile home. Rosie and her owners are coming to stay a couple of nights next month to look after our greyhounds and run the bed and breakfast for us for a couple of days whilst we attend my son's wedding. They came today to see where everything was and how we went about things. A little trial run before the big day! Rosie looked well and was soon mingling with our greyhounds both in the house and garden.
