Blue Greyhound
Rose is a blue ex-racing greyhound who is 6 years old, weighs approximately 68lbs, has a quiet manner, travels well in the car and is from what we've been told she is okay with children and other breeds of dogs.

Rose's Diary
5th May 2012
This afternoon Rose arrived and her stay with Pauline and Colin who were going to foster her just didn't happen because when she arrived she came in season that morning. Her previous owner gave us the option of keeping her during her season or taking her back to the kennels until it was over then bring her again.
Pauline and Colin couldn't take her because one of their older whippets is still a whole dog and he's sired pups already so they dare not risk it. We couldn't have her here because we had a whole dog waiting to be neutered. There was a dilema of what to do as none of us wanted her back in kennels so we phoned the family who put a reserve on her and asked if they would like her today instead of in a couple of weeks. Her potential new owners said of course they would. They would arrange to take her to our vets for both her inoculations and she would also go there 3 months after her season finished to be spayed. Pauline offered to remind them and keep us up to date with things had been done. It all happened very quickly and while Pauline and Colin were taking her over to her new home, her new owners were dashing around getting everything they needed for her. What they couldn't get we either gave or loaned until they got sorted.
Rose had a very short stay in the Retired Greyhound Trust before she went off to her new forever home where we hope she has a long and happy life with her new family.
7th September 2012
We've just heard that Rosie who had to wait three months after her season finished has now been spayed. The operation went well, she's eating and she hasn't bothered with the stitches.
