Dogs welcome, large or small, one or more. A Greyhound haven!

The voluntary work Jenny and Stuart started in July 2004 is a memorial to their darling Penny. Without her coming into their lives none of this would have happened.

CAN YOU TEMPORARILY FOSTER A GREYHOUND FOR US?
Fosterers are a valuable part of greyhound rescue in that another greyhound is living life away from the kennels and taking the first steps towards getting used to the family way of life. If you live in the South Lakes or the surrounding area and would like to foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.
please contact Jenny or Stuart

Molly's Diary
6th October 2017
This afternoon the lady who adopted Ebony (now called Orla) came to visit with Orla to choose a companion for her. As she wanted a black female she took a look at Lottie but felt it didn't seem right. Going through my list of greyhounds waiting to come in I mentioned Molly to her and gave her all the details. Now Molly is still in the kennels of her owner/trainer who it transpired only lived about 10 minutes drive from this lady. Arrangements were made for her to visit Molly tomorrow and we await to hear how they all got on.
7th October 2017
This afternoon I received a phone call from the lady saying they'd been to see Molly and decided they would like her. Her owner/trainer had offered to take Molly to our vets to be spayed and we will make arrangements for this to take place.
12th October 2017
This morning Molly's owner/trainer dropped her off at our vets to be spayed, called in here to complete the transfer of ownership paperwork then collected Molly from the vets and took her back to his kennels to recouperate.
15th October 2017
We received a message today from the kennel saying "Molly in sparkling form after the operation, the vet gave us some Metacam as you thought".
20th October 2017
This afternoon Molly went off to her new home where we hope she will have a long and happy life.
21st October 2017
This afternoon we received a phone call from Molly's new owner saying she and Orla were getting along fine, her name was now Kira and she was a very hungry dog, gulping her food down and wanting Orla's. We suggested she be given twice the quantity of food in the morning for a few days to allow her to 'catch up' as we do here sometimes when they first arrive. Once she feels she is at her correct body weight she can go back to her normal amount of food, she will settle down and the need to steal will disappear.
