Dogs welcome, large or small, one or more. A Greyhound haven!

The voluntary work Jenny and Stuart started in July 2004 is a memorial to their darling Penny. Without her coming into their lives none of this would have happened.

VISIT THE BRANCH by APPOINTMENT ONLY
Please ring for an appointment to come and see the greyhounds and have a chat. You are most welcome, but as we run a bed and breakfast it is essential you ring and arrange a date and time to visit.

ADOPTING A GREYHOUND

When adopting a greyhound the suggested donation is £150.00 which goes towards neutering, inoculations, upkeep etc. Some people give a little less, while
others want to give more. We are quite flexible with this, and with this we provide:

CAN YOU TEMPORARILY FOSTER A GREYHOUND FOR US?
Fosterers are a valuable part of greyhound rescue in that another greyhound is living life away from the kennels and taking the first steps towards getting used to the family way of life. If you live in the South Lakes or the surrounding area and would like to foster a greyhound until we can find him or her a new home.
please contact Jenny or Stuart

Sonny is a large stunning white and black ex-racing greyhound who was born on the 14th July 2012. He weighs 38.5 kg. and is a strong boy. He is house trained, nuetered, inoculated and microchipped.
Sonny is a very happy dog who is okay with children and loves a lot of fuss and attention. He gets quite excited at the idea of going for a walk but is okay on the lead once he's out. He travels well in a car, is okay with other breeds of dogs while out walking but can be a bit on the rough side when he first meets them. This we hope will reduce as more come into his world.
Sonny's Diary
27th July 2017
The branch kennel at the bottom of our garden is where Sonny and Bess stayed for the first few days until Bess went off to her new home. Sonny then came in the house with the other greyhounds.

3rd August 2017
This morning Sonny went to the vets for his first inoculation because he came with no paperwork.

19th September 2017
This morning Sonny went to the vets for his second inoculation bringing everything up to date.

29th November 2017
This morning Sonny went off to the vets this morning where he was going to donate blood to the Pet Blood Bank. He weighed in at 89.3kg, he was pronounced in good health, a sample taken and tested then he gave his pint of blood which will go into the Pet Bood Bank and used for dogs needing blood during operations. He was really good, so well done Sonny. He's got his red life saver tag to go on his collar with his name tag and he's got his blood donor bandana to wear with pride on our monthly walks.
