Long Legged Beauties Rescued Greyhounds Calendar 2006 in the media:

Just prior to the official press launch on Wednesday 28th September 2005 the story was embargoed until Friday the 30th to try allow more people to co-ordinate their work for releasing to the public.

Border TV
Border TV ran a four minute piece giving good coverage of the calendar and the fashion show of four models with eight dogs from the calendar. They highlighted the plight of Greyhounds and how they make such great pets. They showed an interview with Jenny Stott (fosterer and co-producer of the calendar), Arthur Robinson (Chairman of Dumfriesshire Greyhound Rescue), Dan and Christine Putt adopters of Tiger and Flash and they showed pictures of Stuart Stott (fosterer and co-producer of the calendar) taking photographs of the models and interviewed all the models about how they felt about the calendar and filmed them with some of the dogs.

Granada TV
Granada ran the same story but we missed it so can't tell if they used the exact same footage.

Sky News
Sky News ran the item several times on Saturday 1st October.

British Forces Broadcasting
Stuart did a live phon- in interview with Lynne Duffus on Monday afternoon (3rd October 2005). Lynne was particularly interested in November girl Mel Rook who was formerly of the Royal Artillery.  Lynne took time to highlight the plight of Greyhounds.

Lakeland Radio
We understand it has been referred to on-air several times and 10 calenders were given away as prizes following a competition, however, we don't know what was said as we misssed them.

On the 1st October they ran the story 'Beauties and the beasts' when they used the February shot of Sam Brooks with Remy. They ran the story - 'The long legged beauties calendar features sleek bright-eyed beauties with gleaming white teeth in luxuriant poses. It also includes photos of glamour girls'.

North West Evening Mail
On 28th September 2005 they ran a front page picture under the heading 'Beauties and the Beasts' and then devoted all of page three to coverage of the calendar pictures under the title “Woof with the Smooth” They ran seven pictures and four columns giving a well written report about Greyhound rescue and the work of Dumfriesshire Greyhound Rescue.

North West Evening Mail
On Saturday 1st October they ran another full page spread with seven pictures from the press launch.  Three columns were printed about the production of the calendar and they again highlighted the work of Dumfriesshire Greyhound Rescue.

Ran an article on the 22nd October 2005 entitled 'Model Natalie stars in greyhounds calendar' along with the April picture of Natalia and Kelly.

Sunday Sun North East Weekly
On October 2nd ran a 400 word article under the title “They're going fast!” and the September shot from the calendar.

On October 1st the News and Star ran a two page article in the weekend life section under the title “Pedigree's Chum” one full page picture from the calendar August, a picture of Moss with his new owner Jean Jackson and a small shot of the calendar cover.
Five columns of good quality coverage with quotes from Jean, Jenny, Arthur and Britney-Lee Banks.

Westmorland Gazette
Weekly paper that came out on Friday 30th September 2005 with a quarter page article (broad sheet) under the title “every dog has his day” two pictures January and February. Six columns covering the plight of Greyhounds and an interview with the owner of the February dog “Remy” Ms Pat Kendall.

Maidstone Adscene
On the 6th October the ran half a page entitled 'Model stars in new calendar' and featured the September shot of Jasmine Sinclair with Flash and Tiger.

Sunday Sport
We understand there may have been an article in the Sport on Sunday 2nd October 2005 but we have not seen it yet.

Dundee Courier
A fairly large article was featured (date as of yet unknown) that highlighted the role of calendar girl Britney-Lee Banks from Dunblain. Britney-Lee featured with Bobby on the bridge in our October shot along with another picture in the inside cover.

Dumfries Standard
Ran a large article with photographs on Friday 25th November 2005 featuring the calendar and the models and participants at the Fun Greyhound Show held at the Loreburn Hall in Dumfries on Sunday 20th November 2005.
